With restrictions gradually lifting and more businesses now able to resume trade, the NSW Government has introduced a new grant to help small businesses and not-for-profit organisations safely reopen or up-scale their operations. This grant is in addition to the earlier small business support grant of up to $10,000, meaning that businesses who received the previous grant are also able to apply.
The grant is available to businesses that have experienced a minimum 30% decline in turnover between March and July 2020 (for a period of at least 2 weeks) due to COVID-19. The grant ranges in value from $500 to $3000. The funds provided can be put towards any purchases made from 1 July 2020 deemed necessary for the resumption of trade, and for which no other government support is available. This includes:
- Fit-out changes and temporary physical changes such as plastic barriers
- Staff training and counselling
- Business advice and continuity planning
- Cleaning products and additional cleaning services
- Equipment necessary to comply with social distancing
- Marketing, communications and advertising
- Digital solutions such as e-commerce or business websites
Eligible businesses must have an ABN registered in NSW (as at 1 March 2020) with an annual turnover of more than $75,000. They must also employ less than 20 full-time equivalent staff, with a 2019-2020 payroll below $900,000.
If you would like to apply for the grant, please click the link below to go to the Service NSW website. Please note that applications will close on Sunday 16 August 2020.
